“I Heart NY” – Milton Glaser!

Check out the BBC’s podcast on legendary graphic designer and longtime SVA faculty member Milton Glaser, I Heart Milton Glaser (it’s only up for another 3 days, so don’t miss it). Even if you don’t know his name, you know his work.
And if you decide to dig deeper and see original work, check out the Milton Glaser Design Study Center and Archives and their blog Container List (Glaser related posts).

This week: Jazz and Poetry at the SVA Theatre!

A reminder – this Wednesday night, February 16th from 6pm to 8pm at the Visual Arts Theatre, 333 West 23rd Street.
The library has booked an outstanding classic jazz quartet with some of the very best musicians on their respective instruments: Leader Dan Levinson plays clarinet and saxophone, Randy Reinhart is on trumpet, Howard Alden on guitar, and Joel Forbes plays bass. These guys appear on dozens of records, and perform all over the world. In addition, two wonderful poets will read from their work that evening – current SVA faculty member Ginny MacKenzie, and Fran Castan, formerly on SVA’s faculty. Jazz and poetry are always a great combo, so come out enjoy some free and fun culture!
