RIP, Marisol

RIP, Maria Sol Escobar, the artist better know as Marisol, who died on Saturday, April 30th in Manhattan. Her fusion of Pop Art imagery with pre-Columbian folk art caused a stir when she first began exhibiting in New York in the late 1950s.

We’ve created a display at the front of the library to highlight her life and work. Books on display include:
